Services

Four kinds of work, one standard: the answer has to hold up in front of the people who will judge it later. Every engagement starts with a free discovery call, and most of them start with one specific decision you are trying to get right.

Strategic Risk Management

Most risk registers are written to satisfy an audit and then ignored. I build risk assessments that leadership actually uses: evidence-based, ranked by consequence rather than by how easy the item was to write down, and tied to a decision someone has to make.

Typical work

  • Enterprise and operational risk assessments for safety-critical operations
  • Mitigation planning with owners, triggers, and the early warning signs that something is drifting
  • Go-to-market and market-entry strategy for firms moving into regulated markets, including aviation infrastructure
  • Independent review of a risk position before it goes to a board, a regulator, or an investor

Who it is for

Leadership teams in aviation, healthcare, infrastructure, and other regulated industries, and companies entering those industries for the first time.

AI Governance Advisory

Should AI make this decision? For most organizations, that question gets answered by a vendor demo. I answer it with the SCAR Framework, the method from my book of the same name: four dimensions, Safety, Complexity, Accountability, and Resilience, applied to the specific deployment in front of you, with a record of the reasoning that will survive an incident review.

Typical work

  • SCAR assessment of a proposed or live AI deployment, with a written go, no-go, or conditions finding
  • AI governance policy and decision-documentation standards for the organization
  • Readiness review: whether your people, data, and oversight can support the system you are considering
  • Post-incident review of an automation failure and what the record should have contained

Who it is for

Executives, boards, and program owners who will be asked, later, why they approved a system, and want a better answer than "the vendor said it was fine."

Executive Coaching and Training

I spent five years as an FAA Academy instructor and curriculum developer and six as a graduate professor of project management, so training is not a side offering. It is built from the same material as the advisory work, delivered in a format your people can use the following week.

Typical work

  • SCAR Framework training, from a half-day executive briefing to a practitioner course that certifies your team to run assessments
  • Project and program management training for corporate teams and accelerators, including the practical risk and procurement skills most courses skip
  • "AI in Everyday Work," a working session on when to use AI and when not to, for banking, legal, nonprofit, and governance audiences
  • One-on-one coaching for leaders operating under regulatory or public scrutiny
  • Keynotes and conference sessions on aviation safety, AI governance, and risk

Who it is for

Teams that need a shared method rather than a shared slide deck, and leaders who want a candid outside voice.

Project Leadership

Some projects cannot afford surprises: a facility that has to open on a date, a system that has to pass certification, a program the board is watching. I bring structured execution from aviation and federal infrastructure programs, where the schedule is public and the failure is too.

Typical work

  • Fractional program leadership for a defined phase or milestone
  • Project recovery: an honest assessment of where it stands and a plan that does not depend on optimism
  • Requirements, business case, and performance analysis for capital and technology programs
  • Setting up the reporting rhythm so bad news arrives early enough to act on

Who it is for

Organizations with a high-stakes project and no one senior enough, or free enough, to run it properly.

How engagements work

Discovery call

Free, on the calendar, no preparation needed. We find out whether I can help and what the right format is. If the answer is no, you will hear it on the call.

Advisory day

About ten hours of my analysis in advance, a full day together on site or remote, a pre-read and a takeaway packet. Flat rate plus travel. Best for one strategic question.

Working engagement

Four one-hour sessions plus up to eight hours of asynchronous work, over up to four months. Best for a decision or transition that unfolds over time. Larger and longer engagements are scoped individually.

Start with the call.

Thirty minutes, free, and you will leave with a clear read on whether this is a fit. Media on deadline should skip the calendar and email media@vectorstrategic.com.
